Summer is in full swing which means it’s burger season! I don’t know about you but burgers are and always have been one of my favorite meals! Restaurant burgers are good and all…but they stand no chance against this homemade burger recipe! If you love flavorful, juicy burgers, you’re going to LOVE these!

1 lbs burger (makes 2-3 patties) - stock up on grass-fed ground beef here.

Salt

Pepper

Garlic Salt

1/4 - 1/3 cup Yoshida Sauce

Instructions

1. Place thawed ground beef in a bowl.

2. Add salt, pepper, and garlic salt. I sprinkle generously over the ground beef then mix in.

3. Add Yoshida sauce to the meat, mix well.

4. Split beef into 2 or 3 sections.

5. Flatted out into patties, I prefer 1 inch thick, but make them to your desired size.

6. Cook on grill or on the stove to your preferred finish.

7. Right before you take them off heat add a slice of cheese to melt over the top of the patty, allow the cheese to melt.

Crockpot Steak Stew

Slow Cooker Beef Short Ribs.png

I don’t know about you but this time of year I’m a big fan of stews, and soups, especially ones that I can throw in the crockpot first thing in the morning and then enjoy that evening. Oh and the amazing smell it fills the house with…

We eat a lot of beef (which you probably already knew lol) but I love to find new ways to enjoy beef vs. the traditional steak and potatoes - which I love but I also like a little variety.

This recipe for Steak & Potato Stew is perfect for a chilly day!

Ingredients:

1-2 lbs Chuck Steak or Stew Meat (cut into small bite size pieces).

1/3 Chopped Onion

4 Cups Beef Broth

1 Cup BBQ Sauce (we use Sweet Baby Rays)

1/4 tsp salt

1 Tbsp chili powder

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (if you like things to have a little kick)

1 tsp group cumin

1 tsp parsley

Instructions:

Place all of the ingredients into your slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours.

We also served it with buttered bread (so good dipped in the soup!!)

Enjoy!

Benefits of 100% Grass-Fed Beef

Copy of Thank you!.jpg

What’s the difference between grass-fed and grain finished beef? It’s actually very simple, 100% grass fed cows are fed grass and only grass their whole life. This can take the form of pasture grazing of course and winter hay. Grain-finished cows are just that, finished on a grain ration often in a feedlot setting.

So how does the feeding effect how the meat turns out? This too is quite simple. Grass-fed beef is much leaner and has overall less fat than conventional grain-finished beef.

Our cattle are raised and finished on 100% grass. Here are 5 benefits to Grass-Fed Beef:

  1. Grass-Fed Beef is lower in Calories. Because grass fed beef is leaner and has less overall fat it is also lower in calories than conventional beef.

  2. Grass-Fed Beef is a Nutritional Powerhouse. It’s a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and of course protein.

  3. No Hormones or Unnecessary Antibiotics. Our grass-fed beef is free of hormones and we never use any unnecessary antibiotics.

  4. Vitamins. Grass-fed beef has been shown to contain the precursors to the important immune vitamins A and E4.

  5. Efficiency. Cows are one of the most efficient converts of sun energy on earth. By eating grass they naturally convert sun energy into nutrient-dense protein and fat.
